The shaft surface can groove and wear so
much that installing a new seal will no longer eliminate the
leak , nor compensate for the damage.Using a wear sleeves
with the help of a sealing lip made from modified PTFE , can
eliminate this problem. Tokez crankshaft seals use specially
filled PTFE material developed for rotational application.
Each sleeve is custom made from high
quality 1110 steel. Sleeve surface is specially finished (Ra=0.5
to 0.8 m) . For some application hard chrome plating is applied
to provide wear and corrosion resistance.
